I saw this Hanukkah themed Yankee Candle while out shopping with Mike and I immediately wanted it. We smelled it and Mike wouldn't let me get it because it smelled like Christmas!

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
About This Fragrance:
A blend of savory spices, rich cinnamon and sweet potpourri to celebrate the season.

But Wait!
There's more to the story...

I did a little research and learned that this candle is exactly the same as the "Home Sweet Home: Holiday" Candle, just packaged with a different label and different colored wax for Hanukkah.

HOME SWEET HOME: HOLIDAY
About This Fragrance:
A familiar, welcoming seasonal blend of cinnamon, cloves, pine, cedar, smoked firewood and vanilla.

So I guess Mike was right but what should a Hanukkah scented candle smell like?

Sarah, You're actually incorrect. Festival of Lights is the same as Yankee's Home Sweet Home Fragrance. They tell us this in our product knowledge. Sorry :(

Mike has great smell awareness it seems. Keep the same ingredients give or take some dyes and voila, 2 candles for the cost of developing one. I guess Hanukkah smells like fresh motza instead of the cinnamon and other spices?
Amanda - you re-stated exactly what Sarah said...

Hanuka would smell of frying latkes (potato pancakes), applesauce, sour cream or frying donuts. Frying something in Oil being the base smell with an overlay of match lighting and plain wax candle burning.
